The eldest of the Ngamo cubs turns 18 months old today and enters a stage in her life when, over the next few months becomes an independent member of the pride.  We'll see her leave the pride on her own occasionally and lose the remaining concessions given to younger members of lions society.  She will of course continue to receive the support that life in a lion pride can bring.

We’ve observed this little beau blossom into a stunning lioness over the past 18 months; taking part in successful hunts, engaging in territorial defense and helping to raise her siblings (somewhat)

AT1 is a charismatic, curious and loving pride member and has all the charm of any wild and free lion.  Here we present an image from each month of her life starting with month two.
