It has been a busy month at Monde Primary School in Victoria Falls, with Lion Encounter’s community volunteers hard at work revamping the classrooms.
Although the walls are already painted light blue - a colour known to help relax and focus a learners' concentration - the rooms were very bare, with little to engage the imagination. To act as a useful learning tool, while also being visually stimulating, the volunteers have set about enhancing each classroom by painting the alphabet, number lines, days of the week, months of the year, geometric shapes and illustrations on the walls. So far, the classrooms for grades one to three have been completed. The children - and teaching staff - are delighted with the results and are looking forward to the whole school being finished.
