Looking for lions in Liverpool
July 11 2014

Following her successful Find Your Pride event at Liverpool’s Sefton Park in 2013, ALERT Researcher Yvonne Gordon is at it again!

Last year the event, organised to celebrate World Lion Day, saw a constant stream of visitors helping to spread the message about the importance of lion conservation.  The park was a sea of yellow ‘World Lion Day’ balloons and everywhere you looked, children had their faces painted like lions and were hunting in bushes and behind trees to find their pride.  They weren’t the only ones who enjoyed it through; parents and grandparents were just as eager to locate the lions!

Find Your Pride 2014 promises to be an even bigger occasion, not only with lions hidden in new locations around the park, but also with the chance to take part in an African drum circle led by Heartbeat Community.  Along with face and nail painting, this year’s event will offer an attractive range of handmade jewellery and gifts for sale too.

Find Your Pride will be held on Saturday August 9th at the bandstand in Sefton Park, Liverpool, from 11am until 4pm. Admission is free, but there will be a small charge for those lion hunters wishing to receive a goody bag at the end. All profits will go to ALERT.

Get yourself there and help Yvonne to make this event another roaring success!
